How does Twist San Quentin work?

InOut describes the original Twist as three rings you fill for growing rewards, with a "symbol of death" that can cost you everything. The San Quentin version keeps that structure with a new cast. From its How to play panel and what the official demo showed on 13 Sep 2026:

• Spin. Choose a bet and press Spin. Every spin is paid with a new bet, and the demo balance drops by one stake each time.
• Inmates fill rings. When the wheel stops on an inmate, the next sector of that inmate's ring lights up: red for the outer ring, green for the middle, blue for the inner.
• Soap and handcuffs. A bar of soap changes nothing. Handcuffs end the round, empty the rings and cancel the amount the Cashout button was showing.
• Cash out. Cashout collects the full amount shown. Part Cashout, which the rules call Part Payout, takes a portion and keeps the round going; it unlocks once any ring has two sectors filled.
• Complete a ring. Filling a whole ring pays its collected bonus automatically.
• Stake changes are only allowed while the wheel is empty.

What do the rings pay?

These are the values printed on the demo's wheel (13 Sep 2026), clockwise from each ring's inmate marker. The Cashout button shows what you would collect at any moment; on a $0.20 stake, one outer sector showed $0.78.

The inner ring needs three hits and tops out at ×10; the outer ring needs seven for ×200 before its bonus. InOut doesn't publish how often each inmate, the soap or the handcuffs come up.

What does the Buy Bonus give you?

In the demo on 13 Sep 2026, Buy Bonus cost 100 times the bet ($20 on a $0.20 stake) for 10–25 free spins "+ remove handcuffs", which reads as free spins without the round-ending symbol. The rules panel says nothing more about it, and InOut's page gives no separate RTP for the purchase.

What does a 95.5% RTP mean here?

Over a long run of play the game is designed to pay back about $95.50 for every $100 staked. Because each spin is a new bet, compare the Cashout amount with everything you have paid into the round, not with a single stake. InOut lists the original Twist at 97%, so the San Quentin version returns less on paper.

Is there a Twist San Quentin strategy?

No. Spins are random and provably fair, and the handcuffs can land on any spin. Cashing out early or late changes how much you risk and how often you collect, but no cash-out habit turns a 95.5% game into a winning one.
